Dialog Axiata Celebrates Young Innovators of the Vidusara Magicbit IoT Challenge

Innovative IoT Solution to Nurture Local Rubber Plantations

In its efforts to equip young minds with skills required for a technologically advanced future, Dialog Axiata recently awarded winners and participants of the ‘Vidusara Magicbit IoT Challenge Powered by Dialog’ at the Dialog Head Office Auditorium.

Early this year, Magicbit, an easy-to-use STEM education platform, in collaboration with Vidusara Newspaper and backed by Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, launched a competition for kids aged 8 to 18 years to produce their innovative ideas. Participants were provided with a knowledge-sharing session to educate them on developing an IoT application from scratch. The winners and participants of the competition received exciting prizes courtesy of Magicbit and Kandos Chocolates. These young innovators were also given the exclusive opportunity to demonstrate their winning innovations at the awards ceremony held at the Dialog Auditorium.

Speaking about the event, Dr Romesh Ranawana, Group Chief Analytics and AI Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC stated, “We are pleased to partner with Magicbit and Vidusara Newspaper to provide Gen Z & Alpha students with opportunities to win ‘The Future.Today.’ It was exciting to witness the innovative ideas and technologies crafted by our young innovators. Competitions such as the ‘Vidusara Magicbit IoT Challenge Powered by Dialog’ will be a step forward in accelerating their learning & development while also propelling them on their journeys towards unearthing ground-breaking discoveries”.
