Dialog Telekom and Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition Enhance Medical Facilities at Welfare Camp

Dialog Telekom PLC together with the Directorate for IDP Healthcare of the Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition presented a Primary Healthcare Centre for residents at Menik Farm in Cheddikulam.

The semi-permanent building is constructed in zone 00 in the Kadirgamar village and serves a populace of about 17,500. The centre is well equipped with a pharmacy, OPD ward, doctor’s room and doctor’s rest room, replacing the former makeshift tent in which treatment operations were carried out.

The Primary Healthcare Centre will facilitate the medical treatment of thousands of persons residing within the zone, particularly vulnerable communities such as pregnant women, elderly persons and children. The centre currently serves an average of 400 patients daily, with consultation hours spanning from 8.30 a.m. till 5 p.m.

The Directorate for IDP Healthcare has stationed six permanent doctors at the centre, along with some volunteer specialist doctors for treatment of patients. These specialist doctors consist of General Physicians, Obstetricians, Gynecologists, Pediatricians, ENT Surgeons etc. to attend to the various medical needs of the displaced at Menik Farm.
